New Graphic Novels Late 2026: The Biggest Releases

New graphic novels coming in late 2026 — biggest releases and release dates

The final months of the year are stacked. From a blockbuster sci-fi adaptation timed to a major film to a deluxe reissue of a manga master’s medical drama, the new graphic novels of late 2026 offer something for every kind of reader. Here are the biggest releases to watch, with release dates and what makes each one worth your attention.

Dune Messiah Book 1: A Graphic Novel Adaptation

Release: November 3, 2026 — Abrams ComicArts

The biggest release of the season arrives just in time for the holidays. Adapted by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson and illustrated by Michael Shelfer, with a painted cover by Bill Sienkiewicz, this 140-page hardcover ($25.99) adapts Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah — the darker second act of the Dune saga, in which Paul Atreides rules the known universe as emperor and faces conspiracies from every direction. According to the publisher, the adaptation was split into two volumes, with Book 1 timed to land ahead of the new Dune film’s holiday premiere. Fans of the earlier Dune graphic novel volumes will find the same creative team behind this one.

Black Jack Deluxe Edition, Vol. 1

Release: November 3, 2026 — Kodansha USA

Osamu Tezuka’s legendary medical drama returns in a stunning three-volume deluxe edition. The first oversized hardcover ($54.95) collects stories originally published in color, while the second and third volumes will feature Tezuka’s personal selection of the series’ best chapters, according to the publisher. Black Jack, the story of a brilliant unlicensed surgeon and his young assistant Pinoko, originally ran in Weekly Shonen Champion from 1973 to 1983 and is widely considered one of the greatest manga ever made. For collectors who missed the earlier English editions, this is the definitive way to own it.

Before Dawn and the End of the World by Inio Asano

Release: November 10, 2026 — Kana (Abrams)

From the creator of Solanin and the Eisner-nominated Goodnight Punpun comes a 280-page paperback ($24.99) collecting ten early short stories. According to the publisher’s announcement, this single-volume collection showcases Asano’s range before his longer works made him one of the most acclaimed manga artists of his generation. A must for fans of introspective, beautifully drawn manga.

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Vols. 1–2

Release: October 2026 — Ize Press (Yen Press)

The official sequel to the global manhwa phenomenon begins its English print run. Solo Leveling: Ragnarok continues the world of Sung Jinwoo with a new generation of characters, and according to comic-shop release listings, the first two volumes arrive in October 2026. Readers should finish the main Solo Leveling story first — the sequel builds directly on its ending.

Bleeding Hearts, Vol. 1

Release: October 20, 2026 — Vertigo (DC)

One of the first trade releases from the relaunched Vertigo imprint, Bleeding Hearts by Deniz Camp and Stipan Morian is a zombie series with a twist, set in a future dominated by the undead. Publishers Weekly highlighted it among its top ten fall comics picks, calling out Camp — an Eisner nominee — as a creator to watch. Horror fans should put this near the top of their lists.
